Rabbiting with ferrets in Mid Devon Photographed by Matt Austin
Posted on April 10, 2013
The varied nature of my job means one day im photographing models in a beautiful hotel the next morning im heading across Mid Devon hills in the back of a pick up truck to photograph a local butcher and his men Rabbiting with ferrets.
Apologies if some of the images are a little graphic but that’s what happened so I photographed it.
The butcher who catches the rabbits to sell in his shop set his team of four young men arround a hedge row placing nets over any holes, then set a further perimeter net around the area for any who escape the first nets.
Then quite simply let one of the ferrets down a hole to chase the rabbits out into the nets.
It only took about 10 mints and they had caught their first rabbit.
Please take a look at the pictures.
Thanks for looking
