2012 Wedding Review.
I don’t do many weddings taking them as they come to me, even after 14 years as a professional I still find weddings a little scary as I’m used to mostly short Editorial shoots and Commercial bookings, the closest thing I do day-to-day would be Portrait sessions but that’s usually just an hour often one on one.
But I’m always pleased with the my results from Weddings and actually enjoy the time I spend editing the pictures, often I cant wait to get started even though it can take a couple of days glued to the computer.
I think it’s because I still only take a few wedding commissions a year helps me stay fresh and approach each wedding on its own terms rather than falling into the traps of using the same formula for every wedding.
Wedding photography for me is the toughest discipline in my profession, but amazingly to me seems to be the one that attracts so many amateurs to call themselves professional.
It must take some real front to know your limitations and still agree to take money to cover someones big day, I couldn’t do it unless I knew I could deliver.
I have pressure in other areas of work but it’s never as prolonged and intense as a Wedding and those photographers who do it really well show the huge leap in quality from the so-called professional photographers.
I hope I havent made myself out to be a nervous wreck when taking on someones big day, the pressure works in my favour as a creative energy keeping my brain firing on all cylinders.
This is something that I only really experience with a Wedding and have grown to love the challenge and produce some of my most creative pictures.
2013 is going to be my busiest year yet with Weddings and I’m looking forward to it.
I find myself getting an increasing amount of enquiries and have taken the view to push this side of my business so If my style and approach appeal to you please get in touch I would love to discuss the possibility of photographing your Wedding.
Please scroll down and take a look at some of my favorite shots from 2012.
The order is a bit random, and it’s quite long, I tried to put the pictures in some sort of order but gave up and just chucked them on, I ended up liking the random mix better.
Please get in touch for prices and packages.
Thanks for looking
