The Exeter Cathedral Choir photographed by Matt Austin

Posted on November 17, 2012

An excellent start to the day, nothing like photographing a Cathedral Choir to lift your spirits. The session started with a meeting with the Choir Master at 8:45am to have a chat about what I wanted to do before rehearsals started at 9.00am, a very nice man but he didn’t want me getting in the way too much as they are obviously entering a busy period for the Choir and rehearsal time was precious, this suited me as it all looked perfect, all I did was photograph around the rehearsal session and the only time I set anything up was at the end when we kept a couple of the choristers back for some portrait pictures. The sound was beautiful, I wish I could have…

Exeter College’s new Technology Centre photographed by Matt Austin

Posted on November 15, 2012

Another great experience at Exeter college, this time photographing at the new Technology centre. The new £8.5million Technology Centre was built to provide world-class Engineering, Aerospace and Automotive facilities at Monkerton on the edge of the city opened to students this September (2012). The exciting new facility provides industry-led teaching spaces, workshops and laboratories for both practical and academic learning for around 300 students from across Exeter and Devon. It is deceptive in size, you can drive past and just see the well designed front building but behind they have large hangers, sized to be able to work on all kinds of automobiles from scooters to several articulated trucks in one space. The array of equipment and technology available for the students and staff…

At the moment im doing this for a £100 introductory offer, that’s all you pay, no after costs, Just one fee for my time and for the edited and processed pictures, I hand them all over on a disk with no unnecessary long wait for the pictures. The session started meeting the family at the top of Langmore Gardens then we just made our way down to the beach taking pictures along the way, that’s it, I prefer to let children be children…

Gill Coats from Chocolate Amour Dalwood Photographed by Matt Austin

Posted on November 12, 2012

Chocolate Lady. Had a great time this afternoon photographing Gill Coats from Chocolate Amour based from her home in Dalwood Devon, for a magazine feature. Of course I tried some of the things I photographed and naturally it was delicious, the stuff just evaporated on the tongue. Gill gave me a bag to take home for the family but I must have misplaced in the car on the way as it never reached home!. Gill has had a passion for chocolate for many years, In 2008 she qualified as a chocolatier at the world-renowned “Ecole de chocolate Valrhona”, in Tarn Hermitage, France. Since then Gill been running Chocolate Amour workshops and making chocolates for special occasions from her home in the south of France. In 2011 the business moved…

Kenniford Farm Exeter Devon Photographed by Matt Austin

Posted on November 7, 2012

Spent an enjoyable day at Kenniford farm Exeter, commissioned by farmer Andrew Feemantle to photograph all aspects of the farm. They have 300 sows on the farm and all of these live a free range existence allowed to come and go as they please from large barns out to the fields to root and wallow. When they come to Farrow they are brought into pens then moved to larger straw bedded pens allowing them to move around freely and exhibit natural behaviour. This place is a must visit, a fantastic Family run farm, that fits the idyllic idea of what a Devon farm should be with happy farmers happy workers and happy animals all set in beautiful Devon countryside. I wondered around with my camera…
